Speed Skating

I was reintroduced to U2- All I Want Is You last weekend at a wedding reception and now i can't stop listening to it. Scott O sent me a message a while ago asking if i wanted to go to the reception with him. Free meal, I'm in :) It turns out Pat and Tammy Hanson knew the couple as well. I don't even know when i saw them last. We sat with them and basically walked down memory lane the whole night. it was great! oh the good ol' days. I hope to hang with them some more.

As pay back for going to the reception i made Scott come to the World Champ Speed Skating earlier in the day with me. It must be the dutch in me b/c i love watching speed skating. I remember having to wear my Oma's speed skates as a kid when we were going to go skating on the flats and that's all there was that would fit me. It turns out speed skating isn't for me but i love watching it. Anyway, back to last sat we had fun cheering for Canada and Netherlands of course. I wore my bright orange gloves Laura got me during the Olympics. I was under dressed compared to all the other dutchie fans. Note to self for next time. Here's some not so great pics i took.

Cindy Klassen getting ready to start
Cindy again..after winning the 500m

thanks for the gloves Laur!
don't know why but i like this pic :)
this was on the back of the door in the washroom. Just a little disturbing.Shani Davis. Don't know why but i'm fascinated by him. Maybe it's b/c he's the only black guy in speed skating or that he's the only person that doesn't wear glasses when he skates. Don't know what it is but there's something about him.

the dutch band that came to play for us as we were leaving. it was awesome! Not sure what happened to the color in this pic. I blame Scott :)
the hat i want to buy :)i like this pic for a few reasons. First: Only in Calgary would you see zamboni drivers wearing cowboy hats. 2. Christine Nesbitt following behind them after her race. 3. the sea of orange in the stands (all the dutchie fans).

That's weird that you and Pat live in the same city and you haven't run into eachother sooner. Opposite ends I suppose. I saw him the last time I visited Tasha. They're in the same ward. Before that I didn't even know that they lived in Calgary!

I actually knew they were here but just didn't try to contact them. They had no idea i was here though. It sucks b/c now we live on opposite sides of the city. Tammy is going to do my hair for me though. Since I have to find someone to do until i see you :)
